About Us

Daniel Iya was raised in Jos, Nigeria along with his two brothers, Sam and Paul, and his sister, Ladi. His childhood included competitive soccer games and tastes of stardom in his high school band. Daniel developed a vision for career ministry while volunteering at Rafiki Training Village Nigeria (a children's home) as a high school student. After graduating from Hillcrest, an international school, Daniel came to the United States to attend LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. There he met his future wife, Corinne. Daniel graduated from LeTourneau with degrees in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Design Technology before working as a design engineer at AAON, Inc. However, a career in Longview was not what Daniel had in mind; he wanted to combine his education, skills, and passions for ministry work in Africa. Daniel resigned from his job and began a masters in Industrial Management at the University of Texas at Tyler. In January 2013, Daniel accepted a 6-month internship in Uganda to serve with Engineering Ministries International. The six-month internship confirmed his desire to pursue a career in ministry. Also during the internship, he proposed to Corinne and they were married in August 2013. Daniel and Corinne returned to Uganda in January 2014 to serve together at Good Shepherd's Fold Children and Babies' Home.

Corinne Iya was raised in Elveron, PA along with her four sisters, Carly, Kelly, Katelyn, and Kimberly, and her brother, Caleb. Her childhood included a touring family singing troupe and a record-breaking high school track team. From a young age, Corinne felt a calling to combine her love for children with her passions and skills to minister to kids from hard places. Corinne graduated from high school and went to Texas to attend her father's alma mater, LeTourneau University. There she met her future husband, Daniel. During one of her summers attending LeTourneau, Corinne completed an internship at Good Shepherd's Fold Children and Babies' Home (GSF) in Uganda. This confirmed her desire to return to Uganda to continue on in career ministry. Upon graduating from LeTourneau in 2012, Corinne returned to Uganda and served as the GSF Sponsorship Coordinator for a year. While there, Daniel proposed and they were married in August 2013. Daniel and Corinne returned to Uganda in January 2014 to serve together at Good Shepherd's Fold Children and Babies' Home.

  1. I am so jealous! I visited Good Shepherd Fold last August visiting my niece, Dayna Yoder who was a nurse there under AIM. I fell in love with the kids, the workers and the place itself. I want to go back! :-) God bless you!
